What you need to know about Barrington House

Barrington House Limited (BHL) was founded in 1999 by D. Barrington Harris because of the existing demand for accounting, taxation, other MSMEs management support services, and auditing and assurance services.

Having worked with two accounting firms, including an international firm, spanning nine years, Barrington Harris observed that one of the chief drivers of the accounting business was the personal relationship the firm has with its clients. This relationship was, to a great extent, lacking in those firms within which Barrington Harris worked. Having made this observation, and having acquired a level of competence from his vast experiences in these firms, as well as working in the private sector, Barrington Harris made the decision to start his own business of providing accounting, taxation, assurance and financial modelling among other services to MSMEs.

BHL was incorporated in 2000 as a limited liability company, with Barrington Harris as the major shareholder and principal director. Since then, it has grown in its capabilities and competences. Fundamental to BHL's approach is the acquisition of a thorough knowledge and deep understanding of its clients’ industries. This knowledge is what enables BHL to assist its clients to achieve the best results in their respective industries. This is why BHL invest in continuously improving its knowledge of the industries it serves, and enhancing the technologies it deploys in serving its client.

BHL and its partners are forward-looking and pragmatic in our approach to service delivery. As such, we encourage MSMEs to adopt a sustainable approach to development. Sustainability is now widely practised by many companies. 

Sustainability is without a doubt here to stay. Not only will it become a requirement going forward, it is here as there are some governmental and international organizations who will not do business with entities that do not demonstrate that they are practising sustainability.

Who is on our team

D. Barrington Harris, M.Sc., CA, FCA

The visionary behind BHL. He is a chartered accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Jamaica and a former fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountant in the United Kingdom (UK). He has over nine years experience working in two audit firms, and another eleven years experience between the private sector and as the head of BHL. 

Lyndon Wheeler, CISCO, CCNA

The backbone to making sure our IT systems runs efficiently.  Mr.  Wheeler has a CISCO Certification. He had training and experience for more than 10 years in the fields of Information Technology management in the  private and public sector 

Janice Lazarus B.Sc. (Business Administration), CPS

On matters relating to business management, we turn to Ms Lazarus. She as worked at the senior management level for over ten years.
